fall fun days

Since I typically am using both of my hands to wrangle tiny people these days, I don't always bring a camera when we do stuff.  Because I rely on my phone for most of our day to day pics, I thought I should upload some of my phone pics to document them on the blog.  So these are a little random...but then again, so are most of our days.  :)

And here are a few actual camera pics from yesterday, when I tried to take pictures of the girls while Will was at school.  As usual, they weren't at all interested in taking pictures, but I love their little dresses, so I'll take what I can get!

Our days are always loud, a little crazy, and lots of fun!

pumpkins!

Fall is here!  We are loving the cooler weather and have been taking lots of walks around the neighborhood, playing outside, and decorating for fall.  This week, we headed to the arboretum with Mimi and Duke to check out the pumpkin patch.  It was lots of fun, and the kids loved running around in the pumpkins.  They did not, however, really love sitting still for pictures.  So while I would love to say that we took advantage of the amazing decorations and got some great pumpkin pictures....that would certainly be an exaggeration.  But we did have lots of fun!  

So....this is probably the best one of all three kids.  Betcha can't wait to see the rest now, huh?  ;)

So impressed with the arboretum this year.  It's only my fourth year to go during the fall, but I think the decorations are the best ever.  We had a great time playing in the pumpkins!

first day of preschool!

Will started preschool yesterday, and he loved it!  Such a relief, because he never really liked Mother's Day Out very much.  He is in preschool Tuesdays and Fridays from 9-12 at Park Cities Baptist Church.  We stayed at PCBC {where he did MDO}, even though it isn't close to our new neighborhood.  Mostly this is because at the time we signed up, I hadn't had time to find a new school close by.  Plus, Matt always dropped Will off at MDO because it was on his way to work, so I figured it wouldn't be too tough to load up the babies twice a week and drive down for pick up.  Well.  Then Matt changed jobs and has to go to work earlier and in an entirely different direction, so he can't do drop off anymore.  Soooo...we get to load up the crew {fed and dressed!} at 8:30 twice a week for a 30 minute drive to school, then unload everyone to walk in to Will's room.  Then back to the car and back home by about 9:30ish, only to turn around and do it all again at 11:30 for pickup!  Whew!! But we're so happy that he has awesome teachers, and he really enjoyed his first day.  He ran right into the room and started playing without even one look back, and his teachers said he had a great day.

Will's big boy, first day of preschool present was his first watch {angry birds, of course}.  I got it for him in case he got homesick and wanted to check to see what time it was and when I would be picking him up.  Luckily, I don't think he will be feeling homesick, but he still LOVES the watch.  He put it on immediately and even slept in it the first night.  And, incidentally, Matt noticed that this particular watch is not waterproof, or even water resistant.  So he mentioned to me that we should be careful that Will pushes it up when he washes his hands.  You know, so he doesn't splatter water droplets on it and break it.  So fast forward to day 2 of watch ownership....when Will and I decided to go swimming.  {any guesses on where this is going?}  I said that he needed to take off his watch, but then completely forgot to actually take it off him!  He put his own {long sleeved} swim shirt on, and off we went.  About 15 minutes into our swim, I saw a bump under his shirt....the watch!!  It was totally soaked and had no numbers on the screen.  {boo!!} When I took it off him, I pushed on the screen a little bit to see if I could squeeze the visible water drops out, and the screen sorta pushed in and separated a little from the rim.  Oops.  So clearly the watch was toast.  And then this morning, Will brought it in, yelling about the numbers coming back.  And it was true!  By mid-day, the numbers were showing half way up, and by afternoon, it was working again!  Preschool watch miracle!  {And luckily, my watch specialist dad was able to fix the screen!} Obviously we will be more careful with our belongings in the future, as I don't think we will be this lucky twice.  

We are so proud of Will for being a preschooler.  I can't believe he is just 2 years away from elementary school. How is that even possible?  We love our sweet, funny, and very smart little boy!
