why...

...is William so smiley??

Maybe it's because he's been sleeping 7-8 hour nighttime stretches this week! This makes us all smile!

6 weeks?!

I cannot believe that William is 6 weeks old today! Here are a few of his 9 day old pictures. He has grown so much since these were taken!

Will and I have been having lots of fun lately. He has started smiling AT me instead of just accidentally, which is SO fun! He is also awake and alert much more these days, although he still enjoys a good nap. And who doesn't? Another wonderful thing that Will has started doing is sleeping in longer stretches at night! He typically sleeps for about 5-6 hours right after we put him to bed, wakes up to eat, and then sleeps about 3 more hours before needing to eat again. So, it's not exactly a FULL night of sleep for anyone, but it's better than waking up every 3 hours all night! We still have some nights of the 3 hour schedule here and there, but I feel like he's getting more consistent with the good routine lately. This is a VERY good thing, as sleep is a pretty big deal to me.

Since the weather has been so nice lately (you know, except for the random 6 inches of snow on Matt's birthday), we have been going on walks a lot, although Will has a tendency to sleep through every walk! Last night we went out right before the rain started, and he actually stayed awake for most of the walk. I wonder if that might be because he was being rained on just a bit?

Here are a few pictures of what we've been up to lately.

Tummy time - Will doesn't hate it, which is great!
He's a champ at holding his head up:

Mema and Aunt Christa came to visit last week. Somehow we didn't get a picture with Aunt Christa, but here's one with Mema:

Hanging out with Nana:

Our St. Patty's Day celebration:

Will's baseball outfit- too cute not to post, even though he didn't want to wake up for the picture (is anyone surprised about that?):

And finally - I'll end this post with what I think has to be the funniest picture yet. The other day, I decided to take a picture of Will stretching as he was waking up, because I think it's absolutely adorable. And when I looked at the picture afterwards, I noticed that he was totally flipping me off! Who taught him that?!

one month old and happy!

I cannot believe William turned one month old yesterday! Time really flies! Will had his one month check-up yesterday, and here are his stats:

Weight: 10 lbs 5 oz (50th percentile)
Length: 22 inches (70th percentile)
Head: 15 inches (40th percentile)

He is getting so grown up! He has officially outgrown some of his teeny tiny newborn clothes, and he moved up in diaper sizes yesterday! To be fair, he probably should have moved up to the bigger diapers sooner, but I was in denial until I had to change him at the doctor's office and I felt a little bit bad at his too-small diaper! So we have officially moved to size 1!

On another very exciting note, Will smiled at me twice this morning! It was sort of a half-smile both times, but it was definitely his first "awake time" smile. I obviously didn't get a picture, so here's a picture I got a few days ago of one of his sleeping (i.e. gas) smiles. So just imagine this with his eyes open! :)

One of Will's favorite parts of the day is when Daddy gets home from work. I think he loves how playful Matt is with him, and he's probably tired of looking at me by the end of the day! Here's a great picture of their playtime the other night. Matt was getting Will ready for the business world:

Since yesterday was Will's one-month birthday, I decided we most definitely needed a photo shoot. However, Will wasn't interested AT ALL! I could NOT keep him awake. Here's one of the pics of my sweet, sleepy baby:

It has been such a fun month with this little man! We just love him so much, and we can't wait for more fun times!

triple threat

Ever wonder what happens when you put three newborns together on a couch for a photo shoot? Especially if those babies happen to be starting to get a little hungry and fussy?

It starts with a little confusion about what is going on:

Then everyone starts to become displeased....

And then the wheels come off:

Will and I had an impromptu play date with Jennie, Harper, Keli, and Nolan today. It was so much fun! The babies were all on their very best behavior, and the mommies had a blast catching up. Thanks for having us over, Jennie! Can't wait to get these crazy babies together again!
