just some fun pics

Just uploaded some random pics from my phone and a few from a playdate this week. ENJOY!

So Will and I were taking a walk in the wagon the other day, and it was chilly so he was wearing a hat. At one point, I turned around to see that he had removed the hat and was rocking this hairstyle:

Found him pantless after a nap the other day.

Basketball superstar

I think....

...we are gonna...

...have a climber on our hands!

Playdate with Jennie and Harper!

LOVE these babies!

Happy weekend to all!

spring is here!

ahhhhh....love spring flowers!

and love this guy!

and i love our portrait lens that lets me take cool shots like these:

but. sniff sniff.....yesterday something happened to it! No idea what is going on, but it won't work and other lenses work just fine. So I'll just look back at these pretty pics until hopefully we get it fixed. Happy Friday and happy SPRING to everyone!

well, well, well...

...look who is FINALLY getting his top teeth!!

It's hard to see, and clearly this is not the best angle for Will's chin situation, but if you look super closely, you can see his top teeth making their way through. Woo-hoo! Here we come, hamburgers! {no, I'm not gonna feed him hamburgers.}

So besides growing teeth, what else has Will been up to lately? Well, he's been talking some {mama, dada, ca for cat, du for duck and dog} and showing off by pointing out items in his favorite "first words" book {ball, cat, and dog} and body parts {nose, mouth, head, belly button, and ears}.

He has also found a few new favorite spots around the house.

It's tough to load or unload the dishwasher these days...

And this has become a new playtime spot.

We also tried a new mohawk hairstyle after bathtime.

Who doesn't love a naked dude with a red mohawk?!

We're also using the sippy cup and snack trap most afternoons. Sometimes this can get messy.

And we have been to the arboretum every afternoon for almost a week. It's so beautiful out there!

Yesterday, Will was standing at his wagon, and I noticed that he was standing alone - not using the wagon for support. So I whipped out the camera to get some pics, and he just took off walking towards me! He probably walked six steps before falling down! I tried to recreate it and get a video, but Will was having none of it. So here are the pics:

Then I tried to get some cute shots in the grass {he WAS wearing a button down AND shoes...figured I should take some pictures!}.

love this one

He wasn't really that smiley until a new friend crawled over to play, and then he was all smiles!

He loved Zoe and kept pointing at her cute "Z" clip!

If you ever want to hang out with us, just come to the big grassy area in the arboretum around 3-5pm. Any day. Seriously...

step by step {oooo baby!}

So do you have the NKOTB song stuck in your head too now? Good. ;) The song got stuck in my head because my baby took FOUR steps today! Go Will! Yesterday, he took three steps, so today I decided to set up the video camera on a tripod and see if I could catch the action. Too bad no one told me not to sit my big ole self right between the baby and the camera....but hopefully you can see enough of Will to get the idea. I tried to get another video right after I realized that I was blocking him, but he was having no more of standing or walking at that point. We'll try again later. For now, enjoy this one!

And when I was downloading the walking video off the camera, I found one that I took the other day that I just had to share. It shows Will playing his new favorite games: peekaboo at the coffee table and banging on the coffee table. Funny little dude.

monkeying around

We celebrated Will's first birthday on Saturday with a monkey party! It was a blast, and we really enjoyed hanging out with family and friends, making monkeys, and eating cake. Here are some pictures of the festivities.

{by Holly Webster, who also did our invitations, timeline, and thank you notes...all awesome!}

We had a "build-a-monkey" station for the kids {big and small}

step five

Here's a close-up of the timeline of Will's monthly pictures. Holly did an awesome job!

And we had lots of yummy food!

fun monkey cupcakes

sandwich wraps

and chocolate chip "1" cookies

Got this idea from Kristen at Lullaby Lubbock {check the blog for awesome craft and party ideas!} - people got to take bananas and a banana bread recipe home after the party.

Will loved playing with all of his friends. Lots of fun with Ben...

...and Sally

...and lovely Lucy {he especially loved her black patent leather boots!}

...and of course, girlfriend Harper, who also celebrated her first birthday this weekend!

We also played some lasso golf.
{thank GOODNESS for beautiful weather!}

and took some wagon rides.

and played a little tickle monster
{Will loves Blair!}

Will loved hanging out with the family too. Here he is with Aunt Ryan.

He loved having ALL of his grandparents at the party!
{wish I had gotten a picture with them all, but we got one with Mimi!}

one of my favs - sweet Ben checking out the bananas

And of course, Will got to have his very own cake! He was skeptical at first...

Then he decided to pat the cake for awhile.

Parker helped with the candle.

I love this one!

Crazy pic, but I like it.

Finally, Will tried a bite...

...and then really went for it!

DELICIOUS!

What a fun first birthday party!

And this is Will the next morning, when I explained the concept of writing thank-you notes. ;)

Thanks to everyone who helped us celebrate this weekend. It was a blast!
