william is here!

William Clayton Hawkins arrived at 1:16pm on February 11, 2010 - a very snowy day in Dallas! He weighed 7 lbs. 15 oz. and was 20 inches long, and he is just perfect! Matt and I still cannot believe that we are parents. We are so blessed!

Will's 2 week birthday is tomorrow, and he has definitely kept us very busy for the past 14 days! His favorite activities right now are eating, sleeping, and making dirty diapers. He sleeps a lot during the day, but he's beginning to have a bit more awake time. At his 2 week check-up, his weight was up to 8 lbs. 12 oz, so he is a healthy, growing boy! Will had his newborn photos taken last Saturday, and they are precious! We haven't seen them all yet, but our photographer posted a few of her favorites on her blog. Check them out!

starting a blog

Well, with baby William on the way (soon!), we've decided to start a blog. I say "we" because Matt certainly is part of this, but not so much in the "posting things" or "thinking this is cool" kinds of ways. So, mostly the updates, while about us both, will be from Lisa. I'm not sure how great I will be at remembering to post, but I think this will be a good way to share news about Will with friends and family, so I am going to give it a try.

The first big update for us, for those who don't already know, is that baby Will is going to be joining us on February 11th! His official due date is February 16th, but according to every ultrasound I ever had, he is a BIG boy. At 37 weeks, he was measuring over 8 pounds already! My doctor thinks that a c-section is the only way he will be entering the world gracefully, so that's the plan. So assuming nothing changes, we will meet Will at 1:00pm this Thursday! While it's very nice to have a set date, it also creates a little bit of a strange feeling. For example, this is the last weekend that we won't have a baby. Kinda weird....

We are both so excited to meet Will after all these months! It feels like time has flown by, but at the same time, I feel like I've been pregnant for a long time. For those who have been requesting belly pics, here's the most recent one we've taken, which was about 36 weeks:

So in addition to starting a blog, our plans for the last few days before becoming parents are to go on dates, clean the house, and sleep a lot! We will keep everyone posted with any baby updates!
