Happy spring break! I suppose "spring break" doesn't mean all that much when only one of three kiddos is in school, and school is only two 3 hour sessions a week, but nevertheless...this last week was Will's spring break. Ever since the time changed on Sunday, we've all been kind of sleepy and slow in the mornings {even more than usual}, so it was nice not to have to get up and be anywhere early all week. We took lots of walks, bounced in the bounce house every day, and tonight we even ate dinner out on the patio. We love spring weather!

This morning, I decided to take the kids to the arboretum by myself, which is something I haven't attempted since the girls got big enough to want to be out running around instead of riding in a stroller. I asked them several times if they wanted to ride in the stroller or wagon, but as I guessed, the answer was, "WALK!" These girls love to walk around! I had a feeling they would love it once we got inside, but I was slightly worried about the long walk through parking lots from the car into the arboretum, and then back again at the end when everyone is tired. If you haven't done the math...I only have 2 hands, but I have 3 little hands to hold when walking across streets and through crowded parking lots. Will is great about holding onto one of the girls hands while I hold both girls' hands, but if at any time, any one of them decides not to go with the flow, things can get dicey. When we arrived, it was so crowded that people were having to park in the overflow areas...but luckily, we grabbed a spot that someone was leaving, so while we were still pretty far from the entrance, at least we were in an actual lot. Everyone did great on the way in, and even hung in there while we waited in a long line to get in. Then we got in and had a BLAST. Really...so much fun! We walked straight into the big grassy area, and stayed there the whole time. It was pretty crowded, but I think lots of the people were in the children's garden, which we didn't even attempt on spring break. The kids loved running in the soft green grass and looking at all the flowers. Everything is blooming and beautiful!
We only had one problem on our way out....everyone decided they needed to be carried. I was able to convince them to keep on walking until we got about half way to the car, and then I had to double carry the girls {and my bag} and give Will strict orders not to leave my side. The parking lot attendant commented that I literally had my hands full.....very observant, ma'am.
Anyway - I took lots of pictures while we were playing. I love that the girls are getting old enough that all three kids can enjoy doing things together. Such a fun morning!

Will found a ladybug and was so proud of it! {He even asked to see the ladybug pictures once we got home and I downloaded them to the computer. He NEVER asks to see pictures!}

It's still not really possible to get them all to sit still and smile at the camera simultaneously. But I didn't expect Will to be the one photobombing! I still love this one. :)

And finally...conspiring to require me to grow an extra arm in order to get us safely to the car. ;)
We had a fun spring break, even if it was strikingly similar to our non-spring-break days. I am pretty excited about the upcoming spring and summer seasons. I think we're going to have lots of fun playtime ahead.
